Vitamin B6 May Help Prevent Colorectal Cancer

In a 14-year cohort study including 61,433 women (aged 40-76 years) researchers found that long-term intake of dietary vitamin B6 was inversely associated with risk of colorectal cancer. This inverse association was most apparent in women with moderate to high alcohol consumption. Compared with women in the lowest quintile of vitamin B6 intake, those in the highest quintile had a 34% lower risk of colorectal cancer. (Medscape Medical News, 06/09/06)
