Magnesium Intake Affects Colon Cancer Risk in Women
In a cohort study involving 35,196 Iowa women over a 17-year period, it was concluded that a diet high in magnesium may reduce the occurrence of colon cancer among women. The association was largely absent for rectal cancer. In contrast, a Swedish study found that high magnesium intake was inversely associated with the risks of both colon and rectal cancer.
